Musharraf spoke yesterday night at Augustana College in Sioux Falls. He says the Taliban is not a monolith, but rather a spread-out organization with no single commander who could be removed for the command structure to be destroyed.
Musharraf is a stalwart supporter of the US in the war on terror. He ended his decade-long rule and resigned as president in August 2008 amid threats of impeachment.
Since his departure, he's given several speeches at think tanks and universities around the world.

Look who is talking........!Musharaff was singularly responsible for economic and military support to Al Qaeda and Taliban, during his time. He double timed the US with impunity, while diverting the dollars to the anti-Indian Islamists.It is outrageous, and a shame that he is hosted in India, by an immoral media house like the India-Today.
Why only Taliban, Musharraf believes that anybody not aligned to his way of thinking should be eliminated by force.He has shown that to India in several ways, by constantly sending terrorists across, by supporting a plethora of extremist groups,by beheading captured soldiers.In his own country, he removed an elected prime minister, imprisoned thousands of political opponents,suspended the judiciary. These are just the recorded cases.Could have done far more worse things which the world is not aware of.Stalwart against terrorism ? Good posting Padmanabhan, this is what any political leader whether he is a military dictator like Musharaf or the namkevaste elected leader( Zardari) in an American engineered pseudo democracy like Pakistan, will do if they follow the dictates of their American paymasters. Unless and until Pakistan falls in line with Indian form of secular democracy with a cleaner Central Govt like that of India,( many of our state Govts are as corrupt as any state in Pakistan) as it stands now there are good chances that Pakistan will be a failed state. Taliban itself is not the biggest problem; it is again a US manufactured enemy who was once the best friend of the US in the 1980s. Americans are excellent at running with the hare and hunting with the hounds. They can eliminate a few thousand talibans but the big issue is how the US or the Pakistanis and Afghanistanis are going to solve the problem of the sufferings of 42 lac Pashtuns from whom the talibans derive their strength
