"I don't know why he is running around. He should just come and talk to me about the issues he has with the ban imposed on him from playing for Pakistan," Butt told reporters.

Butt said the Pakistan Cricket Board was only following guidelines from the International Cricket Council while imposing a ban on players who had joined the Indian Cricket League.

"But the ICC has made it clear it would leave home boards to deal with legal issues according to the laws of their countries," he added.

Yousuf met Sports Minister Syed Aftab Shah Jillani on Wednesday to discuss the ICL ban issue but the minister said he couldn't give him any deadline for resolving the issue with the board.

Yousuf has also appealed to the chief patron of the board, President Asif Zardari, to intervene and allow the ICL players to play for Pakistan.

The Sindh High Court has already granted relief to 17 of the ICL rebels, including Yousuf, to resume playing domestic cricket setting aside a domestic ban imposed by the board in 2007.

Butt said if Yousuf had any issues with the international cricket ban he should go to court about it.

"We have allowed the players to play domestic cricket on directives of the court and if the court allows the ICL players to also play for Pakistan we will not stop them," he said.

Butt maintained that if Yousuf got any relief from the court to play for Pakistan, the board would not stop him from making himself available for selection.

Butt said the easiest way out for Yousuf was to end his contract with the 'rebel' ICL. "If he does that he can play tomorrow for Pakistan since there is no doubt about his quality or calibre," Butt said.
