Wouldn’t it have been better for your career if you had made your film debut with a masala film?
It doesn’t matter to me if this film is not accepted commercially. It’s meant to be experimental and I chose it precisely for that reason.

Do you want a career in mainstream Hindi movies?
Like any actor, I want to be in films too. But I have no godfather in the industry and it’s going to be very difficult. Post Nach Baliye, there have been offers but nothing is concrete till now. But even if I act in films, I’m not going to move away from television.

With your increased popularity, will there be any change in your track in Kayamath?
It depends on boss (Ekta Kapoor). Before planning the episodes, our team studies the TRPs thoroughly. Kayamath is doing very well and I’m extremely happy with my track.

What do you think about the interest that Ekta Kapoor had taken in both Nach and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2 (the winners of both shows act in Kapoor’s shows)?
It was a very nice gesture on her part. With three of Balaji Telefilms’ actors (Prachi Desai, herself and Aamir Ali) winning, she was on top of the world.
