"The government can take steps only to certain level, but it is you (NGOs) who play a vital role", he said.

The NGO has made the five minute documentary for the Ministry of School Education. It is set to be broadcast in all television channels so that people are made more aware of child education, the Minister said.

Surya said the Foundation had adopted a Adi Dravida school near Chengleput and was engaged in spreading free education.

Actors like Vijay, Madhavan, Jyotika act in the movie. Noted cinematographer K V Anand handles the camera. Music is by Harris Jeyaraj and Sreekar Prasad has done the editing.

Later the minister said that the dropout percentage in the primary school level (class one-five) was 1.4 per cent and the upper primary level (class six -eight) was 2.4 per cent. The campaign will be a continuous process, so that there is considerable awareness on child education, he added.
