Tanuj blanks out seeded Tanmay

Mumbai, February 25 St. Mary’s Tanuj Rungta sprang a surprise by ousting seventh seeded Tanmay Gokhale of Balmohan (Dadar) 6-0 to move into boys under-12 third round in the MSSA inter-school tennis tournament and held at Garden Tennis Academy, Schools Sports Centre, Azad Maidan, here on Monday.

On a day when most of the matches were one-sided, there was a rare tie that went to the wire. 11th seeded Ayush Gupta of Rajhans survived some anxious moments before he could get the better of Aakash Sethi 6-5 with Ayush taking the tiebreaker at 7-3.

In the boys under-12 Kanishk Agarwal got some stiff resistance from Tanay Ghokale but Agarwal won 6-3.
