"I'm now in a hospital in a European city the name of which I am unable to disclose for security reasons," Taslima said in an e-mail.
"I came straight to the hospital from the airport on Wednesday afternoon. I'm feeling much better," she said.
Taslima, who had been under virtual house arrest at an undisclosed destination in Delhi since November, 2007, said she was feeling better also because her movement would not be monitored after she is discharged from hospital.
"I hope to move about freely with some security when I am discharged," said the writer who left India three days back.
The 46-year-old controversial author had said that she was suffering from cardiac problems and retinopathy besides high blood pressure, during her stay in Delhi after she was bundled out of Kolkata on November 22 following street protests by All India Minority Forum demanding cancellation of her visa a day earlier.
Freedom of expression is absolute and it cannot be put under any constraint whatsoever. Only use of lies should not be allowed. When lies are used, the used words become "abuses". Otherwise use of any word whatsoever is a valid use. If the use of a word is not valid, then what the word is doing in the dictionary. The word itself should have been removed from the dictionary. People should not mix lying with the freedom of speech and oppose the right of the absolute freedom of speech. As far as, one is not lying, one has absolute freedom of freedom of speech. Who oppose the absolute freedom of speech? Only those who are not capable of encountering words by words. If you make a critical statement in front of an intelligent person and the same statement in front of a stupid person, the intelligent person will boomerang your statement to you and the stupid person will be exploded. If we put constraint on the freedom of speech, then it is nothing but appeasement of stupid person mentality
A genuine writer means first they have to have the moral responsibility on their society to unite all communities not to divide. If you’re writing hurt mass feelings or beliefs. You should be ready to face any consequences. It’s like using your Kitchens knife you can use to cut vegetables or you can use to hurt someone, all depends on your common sense.

It is very very sad to note that largest Democracy could not protect the voice of reason. It should be ashamed of this act and should not boast of being a true democracy.When it can not protect a single person how it can think of protecting more than a billion strong populace.Indian so called leaders are coward, myopic, incompetent, occupying positions which they do'nt deserve thereby doing real disservice to the nation.Alarm bells should ring in the minds of right thinking persons that what future so called indian leaders are going to give to their countryment.Any neighbour can threaten them, can carry out subversive activites on their soil, can take away their territory and they remain silent in the hope that india will be benifitted by their foes claiming to be their friends.Already Tibet has been gifted to China by our so called leaders and could even negotiate on Arunachal Pradesh by requesting China to let them enjoy some part of Arunachal Pardesh.

Taslima chose her own destiny. India is a secular country which respects all the religions. If a particular individual hurts the sentiments of few million indian citizens, does she side with her own people or with those who come to her for their own selfish reasons. Why does Taslima insist on becoming an Indian citizen when a number of countries are happily ready to accept her. Now that she has gone for good, the issue must settle down. The Muslim and Christian hold on India is so strong, I don't think anyone who dared to say anything that sounded like a criticism can escape the punishment; in this case, the punishment was one of the worst, since it was the Government which for all practical purposes arrested her leading to her mental torture. We know it is the Muslim(the Left)/Congress(Sonia) combine, but the point is that it was not done by the party outfits, but by them IN THE NAME OF THE GOVERNMENT. THAT IS THE SADDEST PART.

A greatest injustice done to a helpless lady and most unfortunately it is India where she met this fate. We indians worship Maa Durga and Maa Kali and so Maa Saraswati and Maa Laxmi and many many thousand mother God. But in the forceful desire conveyed to people in power by the Left and CPM, Govt. sent her out of India. It is extremely painful that no body could do any thing but see her sent out of India. Time will come when those who have done this injustice will regret and will be accused of their deed. What a shame to India! This Sonia/Congress has again let down the country known for receiving all guests.. Sonia/Congress/Communists(Muslims) have demonstrated that their religion comes first and India's hard-earned name can get lost..When will these third rate politicians, namely, Congress/Sonia and the Left get out and our motherland can be saved from further ignominy?
