Chandigarh, March 20 “Never preach something you don’t practice yourself. Children are very astute when reading non-verbal signals. They will immediately notice any discrepancy between what we say and what we do.”

Professor Abnash C Julka of the Economics Department, Panjab University voiced the Gandhian mantra of ‘Walk The Talk’ while speaking on the third day of the teachers’ training programme on moral values and duties, currently in progress at the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10. Yuvsatta, an organisation promoting Gandhian values in society, particularly among the youngsters, offered today’s courses.

The programme was inaugurated by Justice KS Ahluwalia of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Justice Ahluwalia spoke about the importance of teachers in society, particularly their responsibilities towards spotting a student’s individual potential and moulding them accordingly.

Director Public Instruction (Schools) SK Setia made valuable suggestions relating to the problem of stress among students, parents and teachers in his session.

He also dwelt on the inculcation of morality among students and provided solutions to organisational problems faced by teachers and schools.
