Jammu Found involved in molestation with school girls, two teachers of Government Higher Secondary School in Katra, 43 kilometres north of Jammu City, have been suspended and whole of the school staff attached by the education authorities in the state, officials said.

Commissioner Secretary, Education, G A Peer informed that both the teachers including a physics lecturer Rajiv Abrol and R S Manhas have been placed under suspension after authorities came to know about their alleged involvement in such a shameful act with students. All the school staff, including the principal, has been instructed to report at the Director School Education, Jammu till the further orders.

The suspension of two teachers and attachment of the staff followed the serious allegations by the school girls of the molestation charges of both the teachers with number of girl students in the school premises. Hundreds of students boycotted their classes on Monday and demanded stern action against the accused teachers.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Secretary, Education, G A Peer, Director Education, Zahida Khan and Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Sanjeev Verma rushed to the spot and pacified the agitating students and local residents and took the action against the teachers on the spot and ordered an inquiry in this matter. The Joint Director Education will head the inquiry and submit the report in 15 days.

This is the first case of its kind in Katra, so the incident was taken seriously by the local residents. However, they have not approached the police but demanded strict action against the accused teachers.

Officials also informed that there was already a complaint of charging an exorbitant fee against the school management which was established too during the preliminary investigation and report is being framed.
