New Delhi LS Retail has chosen Gurgaon based Dynamic Vertical Solutions (DVS) to be its ‘Retail Centre of Excellence’ in India.

The proposed retail centre is an initiative to provide retailers of all sizes insights into usage and application of cutting edge technologies in the retail industry and would showcase end to end solution roadmap for the retail industry.

Speaking on the partnership, Gunnar Gunnarsson, CEO of LS Retail sounded confident about the growth of retail in the country. “LS Retail is very proud to announce DVS as our chosen Retail Centre of Excellence in India. Their domain expertise and retail industry experience of the Indian & the Indian sub continent markets have made them the best fit organization to drive an initiative of this nature forward,” Gunnar said.

Ashok Kumar caught up with Rakhee Nagpal, Founder & Managing Director, DVS, for a short chat on the occasion.

Are the small players in the Indian retail sector ready for a technology ride?

They (small Indian retailers) want it for sure but so far they have been reluctant because of a lack of a facilitator.

What role will DVS play as a facilitator?

What LS Retail does is to draw a roadmap. But, we according to the prevalent laws and regulations of the country will customise the products according to the local needs. Tailor made applications makes our products a unique solution for those who solicit our services.

DVS is going to fine tune the products according to the specific needs of the retailers by taking care of the technological aspect of the retail solutions.

Are you going to limit yourself only to the organized retail sector?

For the start we are going to the organized sector. But, of course, the unorganized sector is a playground which we are going to look forward to tap in the future.

Why would the players, who are already grappling with the profit margins in the retail sector, be attracted to spend on your services?

Well, the investment made by them in technology will deliver profits in the long run. Once the companies realize that they are going to derive benefits, they will be attracted to subscribe to our services.
