Teenage girl ends life after abduction threat

Rajkot A 17-year-old girl committed suicide allegedly after “abductors” of her elder sister threatened to kidnap her too, in Sihor taluka of Bhavnagar district.

The police said Jyoti Babariya consumed poison at her house in Kotadiya village on Saturday morning, and died hours later at a hospital in Sihor town. Following this, police arrested six persons.

According to police, the six had threatened Jyoti’s family on Friday night that they would kidnap her if they registered a complaint about the abduction of her elder sister Bharti, 20.

Bharti, whose wedding is scheduled for Monday, was abducted on Thursday allegedly by neighbour Bhagirathsinh Gohil.
