Temples burgled in Solan; jewellery, cash stolen

Solan, February 10 Resentment prevails among villagers after some unidentified persons stole gold and silver jewellery from the temples of Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva in Ramshahr area of Nalagarh sub-division in this district last night. The burglars also took away some cash and other offerings of copper from the temples. Notably, earlier the thieves had struck at the temple of Mahasu deity in Chail area of Kandaghat sub-division.

The theft was first noticed by some devotees when they visited the temple of Goddess Durga for routine prayers at Ramshahr in the morning. The second theft was also noticed by villagers after they went to the temple of Lord Shiva, situated at Baddu village, in the morning.

The police are investigating.
