The protest turned violent as scores of Hindu Mahasabha activists clashed with CPM workers and started pelting stones at the party office where a CPI(M) Central Committee was meeting, police sources said.
CPI(M) workers retaliated and in the ensuing clash ten of the Left party activists were injured. One of them is said to be in a serious condition.
Rapid Action Force was immediately deployed in the area. Police lobbed teargas shells to disperse the mob. Windows of the AKG Bhawan were broken and the ground floor of the building which houses the office of the party organ People's Democracy suffered extensive damage.
Window panes of a number of cars including that of CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and Politburo member Sitaram Yechury were broken during the violence. The party suspended its Central Committee meeting and was holding an urgent poiltburo meeting to discuss the situation.
Several activists of the Hindu Mahasabha were detained in connection with the incident, the sources said.

I was shocked to learn that comrades Sitaram Y and Prakash Karat have cars. I thought comrades should be on bicycles, wearing hawai-chappals and other poor man's symbols. This way how are they going to bring about "dictatorship of the proletariat" here? The moment they get ensnared by bourgeoisie trappings then their revolution goes for a toss. My friend,Vivek you are right in your comments but i would request humbly for modifying Hindu Mahasabha into Arya Mahasabha because if you go through the Arabic and Pharsi Dictionary you will surprise to know that Hindu means Chor(Thief), Daku(Dacoit), Lootera(lootne wala), Neech(mean person) etc. It is surprising for we Bharatians that inspite of knowing the meaning of Hindu in Arabi and Pharsi Dictionary we did not like to accept truth in this regard. Moreover I would like to inform you that if you will go through our sacred books like Geeta, Mahabharata and Ramayana there is not even a single word where Hindu has been used. In fact in order to defame us these muslims (including Arabians and foreign invaders ) used this derogatroy words Hindu in their own culture. But we, Bharatvasi did not introspect about this word sincerely and feel proud to mark ourselves as Hindus. While the meaning of Arya is a person of excellent quality.

I wonder what this "urgent politburo meeting" of this pro-China, murderers-masquerading-as-democrats outfit can achieve. Yes Vivek,We have to stand up for our rights. In the last week we have seen many instances of abuse and ill-treament of Hindus in India. Apart from the killings of BJP workers in Kerala yesterday in Chennai an exhibition of Aurangazeb's official paintings was shutdown after Chennai police vandalised it following protests from Muslim groups. They objected to two paintings which were part of Aurangazeb's official documents showing the destruction of temples at Somnath and Mathura. And there was no reporting and coverage by the Sickular Media. When will this state sponsored abuse and persecution of Hindus stop?
