Chandigarh, April 24 Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who turned 35 today, reached here from Chennai on Thursday and celebrated a quiet birthday here with wife Anjali. As soon as Tendulkar, who is captaining the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League but has not been able to play so far due to a groin injury, arrived at the Shivalik Hotel here, he headed straight to his room on the fourth floor. Tendulkar preferred to stay in the hotel room and did not come out despite a battery of mediapersons waiting on the ground floor of the hotel wanting him to cut the cake and have a small chat with them. He also ordered for some food which he had with Anjali, who is accompanying him, but the couple’s two children have not come this time. Tendulkar was looking in a relaxed mood in a blue T-shirt and shorts as a waiter outside the room waited patiently with champagne glasses. Earlier, as he reached the hotel, there was utter chaos all around the place. Despite tight security in place, Tendulkar found himself surrounded by a battery of photographers and camera-

persons, some of whom managed to push the personnel of his private security to click a better frame. The Mumbai team’s security officer, Faisal, was upset as he found some of his teammates being pushed and jostled around.
