Tennis championship from March 21

Sas Nagar, March 2 The Mohali District Lawn Tennis Association (MDLTA) in collaboration with Punjab State Lawn Tennis Association is organising the first ever Punjab State Masters' and Veterans' Championship from March 21-23, 2008 at State Institute of Health & Family Welfare tennis courts, Phase-VI, Mohali. The three categories of competition will be 35+, 45+ and 55+, and both singles & doubles categories winners will be declared. A large number of entries from all over the state of Punjab are expected.

According to Tilak R. Sarangal, president, MDLTA, the association is doing its best to popularise and develop the game of tennis in the newly formed district of Mohali and the state championship would facilitate senior players of Punjab to get an added opportunity and exposure to compete at higher level. He stated that interested players may contact Harjit Singh, general secretary, MDLTA on 98765-31000 for registering their entries. The last date for submitting the entries for the event is March 16.
