New Delhi British actor Christian Bale may not be familiar with Bollywood films but the 'Terminator Salvation' star says he is fascinated by India and hopes to visit the country.

"I seriously did not get a chance to witness Indian cinema but I have always been fascinated by the country and would love to visit India once in my lifetime," Bale said.

The actor, who stars as former freedom fighter John Connor in the fourth installment of the 'Terminator' franchise, is also impressed by fellow Brit Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire'.

"Danny has done a commendable job in 'Slumdog Millionaire' and I will surely be a party to his projects if he comes up with interesting concept," said the 33-year-old actor.

Bale starrer action-thriller is being released in India by Sony Pictures this Friday. The film will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The 'Terminator' franchise has always been identified with Arnold Schwarzenegger's character Robot T-800 but Bale is confident that the audiences will like his character.

The film is set in the post-apocalyptic 2018 and John Connor (Christian Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators to save the mankind from being annihilated by machines.

For Bale, playing the character of Connor was like a dream come true and the actor hopes to work in the future 'Terminator' projects as well.

"Being a part of Terminator is a life time opportunity. It's a dream which is fulfilled probably once in a lifetime," the actor said about his decision to take up the role, which has always been identified with Schwarzenegger's character.

"It was an enthralling experience to be a part of Terminator mythology. The character of Connor had to look realistic without taking away any of his macho feel. I had to maintain the persona of John Connor in a charming and versatile manner," he added.

The actor met Schwarzenegger to understand his role.

"We had a meeting regarding this role. Arnold is an immensely talented actor who is a knowledge bank in terms of acting and he was a great help for me. I could learn a lot from him which enabled me to portray this phenomenal character with ease and elan," the actor said.

Bale has created a niche as an action hero be it Jim Luther Davis in 'The Harsh Times', Patrick Bateman in 'American Psycho' or Batman in 'The Dark Knight but said he would like to explore other genres as well.

"An actor should follow a versatile approach because lingering on to a specific genre of character is not appropriate. But personally, I admire being in a suspense-thriller film," the actor added.

Apart from Bale, the film stars Australian actor Sam Worthington, Bryce Dallas Howard and Moon Bloodgood.
