New Delhi, December 3: Terrorists may carry out attacks in Delhi in next two weeks, intelligence agencies have warned, prompting an alert in the capital.

The input provided by Intelligence Bureau to Delhi Police two days back talks about the possibility of terror strike at market places or other crowded places by groups like Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami (HuJI).

"Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal received the input from the IB that there is a possibility of a terror strike in the capital within two weeks time," a senior police official said.

The input came barely a week after serial blasts in courts in Uttar Pradesh which claimed 11 lives.

Following the intelligence warning, Dadwal has issued orders for mounting vigil at all major markets and other crowded places, including malls, railway stations, Delhi Metro and bus stands.

Police presence at these places has also been increased, the official said, adding patrolling has also been stepped up.

Vigil has also been increased on Delhi's entry points, with Delhi Police officials maintaining a close coordination with their counterparts of neighbouring states.

To pre-empt any possible attack, a close watch is being kept at cyber cafes and their owners have been asked to maintain a list of their customers along with server logs.

Dealers providing mobile phone connections have also been asked to maintain a list of their customers.

Cyber cafes here have come under a scanner as investigations in the UP blasts have revealed that e-mail threatening to blow up courts had originated from the capital.
