Patil, who briefed the Cabinet on the situation in Mumbai, was giving details to media about his visit to the city after terrorists struck there.
He said after the terrorists, who attacked Cama Hospital, ‘left’ the police chased them and killed one of them and injured another.
Patil, who condemned the attack as an act of cowardice, said the country would remain strong even as the terrorists attempt to weaken and create difficulty for the citizens.
The Home Minister had condoled the loss of lives, including top ranking police officers, in the attack and said their sacrifice would inspire the rest of the force to do their duty more resolutely.

I deeply saddened the way things have been going in mumbai, and before this there where like 11 blasts around the country , I dont konw whats happening , its complete confusion. I am really angry at the fact that so many innocent lives are being lost for no reason ,so much infrastructure loss and i have sympathies with families who have lost there dear and near ones.The Indian Army should kill these people without asking any questions .

Mr.Singh, remember when Patil was fore warned about the attack in delhi, he did not do anything and explined he was not given the time and place of the attack! I do not know how tolerate him. The country can not.

why was the NSG DEPLOYED only 8 hrs after the first attack,why the minister did not order there deployment earlier,why debate abt making new anti terror and national security laws when the govt is not preprepared to implement the excixting laws so as not to displease there minority vote bank.Shame on the govt,IB,RAW who are paid by the Treasury of hindustan but dance to the tune of foreign anti national cartels

Patil Saheb I hope you carried enough suits with you for your stay in Mumbai. Looks like terrorists are here to stay so why dont u order a truck load of suits and keep in all the cities across the country so that you dont have waste time packing. Also i think you did not meet your boss sonia gandhi before coming to Mumbai, otherwise she would have personally ordered you to blame BJP, RSS, VHP for this and take clean chit for government for failing to safegaurd its citizens. THis would have helped you getting minority votes in four states and also in general elections next year. Please take sonia gandhi along and distribute sweets to Mr. Afzal Guru he must be really happy and you will get minority votes. I can't believe that Home Minister in such a grave situation made such a casual statement. Even Jokers may not venture to utter such words !1 And if he has made the statement really something is fundamentally wrong with the person and deserves to be carefully acted upon by the PM.The safety and security of the country caanot be in such hands anymore.!!
