Mumbai Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has raked up the issue of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's "foreign origin" and ridiculed Rahul Gandhi's prime ministerial ambitions.

In an interview to party mouthpiece 'Saamna', Thackeray said Sonia was a foreigner. "What love will she have for this country and what is her contribution here," he asked.

"You see what is going on in the country. There is controversy over the Army chief's age and the matter is in court. Whose reputation is in jeopardy? There is no question of Sonia's reputation as she is a foreigner," he said.

On Rahul, he said, "He was born yesterday and wants to be prime minister today. Is the PM's post up for auction?"

The atmosphere in the country was polluted by Congress, he said.

Thackeray, who celebrates his 86th birthday on January 23, when asked the "secret" of his good health, said, "If I reveal my secret, all these Congressmen will emulate it."

Raj Thackray by san on 25 Jan 2012

Many persons are following Raj Thackeray these days and Congress 'yuvraaj' Rahul is one of them. He is asking Uma Bharti 'Kyon ayee hain wo MP se??' Shiela Dixit is blaking 'outsiders' for the crime rate in Delhi, instead of delvering at administrative front.

PM Role by CA.V.RAVINDRAN 9994133388 on 14 Jan 2012

PM must give importance for industrial and agri cultural development. Import and Export must be given utmost importance. banks must help industrial and trade sectors to grow. PM must propagate country development to all students. All the subsidy schemes must be known to public by PM. Indian people though they want to start the industry, banks are reluctant to carry out govt schemes. banks are reluctant to encourage PMEGP and CGFTS loans. PM announces very good schemes, but according to me, the government must create awareness to the people. PM is the leader who is responsible for country development particularly in industrial growth. In India, the present govt headed by our PM is going in right direction, but according to me, all the government scheme details have not been fully furnished to people. I request the government to create awareness of Industrial and trade development help to my fellow Indians. Our India must become NO1 in entire world. All the best to my PM and his team.

Balasaheb by Rajesh Doshi on 09 Jan 2012

Very correct Balasaheb, but why did you support the candidature of this President who is in the service of this Family, ahead of the country? Can you put India first and Maharashtra next?

Rahul gandhi by Harish Jhaveri on 09 Jan 2012

Mr. Rahul Gandhi was not born in India. He has no experience of adminstration of any state , like chief minister. Mr.ahul Gamdhi is incompetent for prime minister job.

extremsim in any form is bad by Sachin on 08 Jan 2012

I am not in favour of Thackrey and also not a fan of Sonia Gandhi. Sonia did not take the positon because she was not Qualified for the post.Guys just read about her More. Why we need a Gandhi Family to carry the burden..i don't think we should give them that. Instead of that try to act honest..we are corrupt so we deserve corrupt politicians..so can't do much till each one of us act resonsibly.

Doublespeak by Anil on 08 Jan 2012

Neither does this old hag die nor does he shut his crappy mouth. Day in and day out he goes on and on about what others should be doing instead of doing anything constructive at least for Mumbai where he lives if not for his state or the country, but has the gall to question Sonia's contribution to the country. No one is supporting her or her son's candidature here, but why do people like Thakeray who have only nuisance value reach where they are in the first place?

Maha CM by Kevin on 08 Jan 2012

She has contributed her husband and children to this country by rajkumar on 08 Jan 2012

Thackeray you should know when a women has sacrificed even her husband to the country she stands tall in the eyes of the people. When her party came to power she did want to become the prime minister. Instead she gave it away to known and proven economist to develop this country. Tell what have you done for this country other than attacking North Indians to win Maratha votes. Tell us how did you attack Muslims to win Hindu votes. One time you attack the same Hindu North Indians to win Hindu Maratha votes and other times you attack Muslims to win Hindu votes. Tell us how many of your family members are leading the party and running a family rule. Dont fool people with your dress and tha saintly beads.

Fuss about origin by kiran on 08 Jan 2012

she may be foreign origin . She might be initially a simple Italian girl. But she did her job so judiciously and succussfully that people can now only complain about her foreign origin. Maybe her closeness with two former charismatic prime ministers helped to gain the experience required for politics.

sonia the corrupt woman by jigna on 09 Jan 2012

You sound so slavish are you her domestic help. This is the question of our country not sonia's house.
