Their sports calendar is so packed that most of the times the girls do not have enough time to practice and their coach Marshall John with a shrug says: “The girls have played in under-14 football and volleyball tournaments simultaneously. Just after a day’s break, they are now playing in a throwball tournament. Yes, these girls have hardly had any time to practice and are playing on the basis of their last year’s experience”.
It is not the overexposure, but the only guilt John suffers from is that he does not get more time to practice all the sports with them and asks, “Where is the time?”
The coach is in a tricky situation as the under-12 football tournament has also started at the MSSA and will have to shift his attention there too. But he looks confident and says, “I’m very sure that our under-12 football team can reach the play-off stage. Also in throwball, the under 14 and 16 ‘A’ team’s can reach the finals.”
Shuffling from one court to other John adds, “St Anne’s have six teams in the tournament; two (A and B) in each category but this trend has been there for years.”
