Ward number 13 (Area) Parts of Sector 15
Category- General
Over all rating - 8/10
With the approval of three tube wells to getting sanctions for a boosting station and an additional toilet block in the sector market, the ward is on the highway to development. While residents agree that a lot has improved in their ward in the last five years, they claim certain areas still need more attention than ever.
As if on cue, the ward councilor, N K Rawal, claimed there were many major development works in store for the residents which he would like to complete if re-elected. And going by what residents say, it is a very likely scenario. Hapy with the overall development in the ward, residents say Rawal stands a good chance at making a come back this time.
Complaints and expectations
A resident, Sachin Aggarwal, said the councillor did a good job in getting the haphazard electricity wires in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) colony fixed.
“It was a long pending work and was one of the biggest concerns for the residents of the area. But as for the condition of roads, l lot needs to be done,” said Aggarwal.
Another resident Rakesh Jain added, “The open area in the sector has turned into a dumping ground. Not only garbage from the sector, the ‘malba’ of entire Panchkula is dumped here. As for the sweepers, the only thing they do is collect plastic bags and burn them, making the stench unendurable. We have asked the authorities to do something about it umpteen times, but it was of no use.”
While for Sanjay Verma, another resident of the ward, one major trouble in the sector was the poor condition of roads, where travelling is like being taken on a roller-coaster ride. “The stray cattle menace is another nuisance that is giving sleepless nights to the residents. But we cannot deny the fact that except for some civic problems, several developmental activities have taken place during the tenure of the present councillor,” added Verma.

Talking to Newsline, councillor N K Rawal said, “We managed to get the recarpeting of roads done from time to time. The dangerously-dangling electricity wiring in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) colony was also corrected. Besides, three new tube-wells have been approved along with sanction for the water boosting station.”
He added that the sector seriously needed another entry point, for which he would request the authorities to get the median of Sector 10/15 point opened and have traffic lights installed instead. Rawal added that if he returns to power in the coming elections, he would strive to get the sector a new entry point and complete other major development works.
