Kolkata, August 08 Three children were injured in a ‘bottle bomb’ blast at Shantipara, a stone’s throw from New Jalpaiguri railway station today. The bomb squad recovered four ‘bottle bombs’ from the spot. One of the children is reportedly in a critical condition.

The blast took place when four students of Gatebazar Railway School noticed a bottle which had a jelly-like substance inside it. When one of them tried to open it for the jelly, the bottle exploded and three of them were injured.

The injured school students were admitted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. According to the police, the bombs were crude in nature and were made locally. Police are investigating the incident.
