Those arrested include Yograj, a Mansa Devi Complex resident, siblings Neha and Nancy, residents of Sector 44. The two others include Jimmy alias Gautam, resident of Ashiana Complex, Panchkula, and Eisha, a Sector 44 resident.
The five were sitting in a Maruti Zen car (bearing no registration number plate and black film on the vehicle’s windowpanes) near Mansa Devi Complex, when they were noticed by the police personnel patrolling in the area. “As the vehicle was bearing a black film and no registration number plate, our police party knocked at the windowpane. Rather than opening the car doors, the driver Yograj Singh sped from the spot.
A message was flashed by the Police Control Room about the car going towards IT park. Constable Joginder Singh intercepted the car at IT park lightpoint and in an attempt to stop the car, got injured in the accident. He was knocked down so bad that the rear windowpane of the vehicle broke because of the impact. The constable fell on the rear seat of the car, between the occupants, who assaulted him and finally threw him out of the car near IT park ¿ Kishangarh roundabout.
“Joginder sustained multiple injuries. It was a blind case. Working on certain intelligence inputs, we finally succeeded in identifying and subsequently arresting the accused,” said Inspector Hari Kumar, Station House Officer, police station Manimajra.
Three arrested for cheating
