According to information reaching here, Delhi’s Kanika Kumari won the hammer throw event with a new meet record of 50.83m in the under-19 girls’ group. The previous record of 48.9m was set by Seema Jhakhar (Haryana) in 2006. Rajni from Rajasthan and Vanitha of Karnataka finished second and third.
Delhi’s second medal, a silver, was bagged by Arjun in the discus event in the under-17 boys’ group. Eventual winner Akash Antil of Haryana threw the discus to a distance of 54.41m. Deepak also got bronze for Delhi in the under-14 boys’ discus event.
Sikanderjeet Singh, representing Indian Public School, won gold with a distance of 46.42m.
