Beijing, January 10: China on Thursday said its ties with India were witnessing "a sound momentum" and expressed the hope that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's upcoming visit would further enhance the strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides would exchange views in depth on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common interest during Singh's meetings with the Chinese leadership during his three-day visit to the Communist nation from January 13, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu told reporters here.

Replying to a question, she said, "I do not know what specific topics will be discussed."

Jiang said China's ties with India were witnessing "a sound momentum" and noted that the boundary negotiations had made a positive progress. She recalled that Special Representatives of the two sides held three rounds of talks last year.

"We hope to work together with India so as to find a fair and reasonable resolution framework acceptable to both," she said.

Asked if the issue of Tibetan government in exile in India would also figure, she said Indian government's position on the matter had been "persistent and clear."

"We believe that the Indian government would adhere to this policy and honour its commitments."
