Till now it was a trailer, there is more to come: Raj

Raj 300

Mumbai, October 9: Toughening his stand against migrants, specially north Indians, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray indicated on Thursday that his party would launch more intense agitation on the issue.

"Whatever happened so far was a trailer, a teaser. There are more to come," the belligerent MNS chief said during an interactive session for online edition of a leading Marathi newspaper. You come as a paying guest and claim right of ownership over the house. This won't be tolerated," Thackeray said.

"In Maharashtra, nine crore Marathi people are taken for granted and the remaining two crore, who are outsiders, are appeased," he added.

MNS would contest Lok Sabha polls, Raj said, adding that he would not go in for poll-alliances at the cost of interests of Marathi people.

Ruling out his contesting elections, Raj said the Nano project would not have gone to Gujarat if he were the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Raj riled ruling politicians for failure to make an offer similar or better than the one made by Gujarat CM Narendra Modi to Tata.

"Our politicians only think of their own constituencies, not the entire state. The Nano project is coming up in Sanand which is not Modi's constituency. We lack this kind of vision in our state," he said.

"There is a new culinary dish being churned out in the political arena and it is called 'spineless politician' like the boneless chicken," Raj said.

"Give me power and I'll fix everyone and everything using the language they best understand," he added.

"After my agitation (against non-Marathis), Marathi people are walking about with pride in their own state," he claimed.

Besides Mumbai, there is also unrest among Marathi population in rural Maharashtra as north Indians are making inroads into their area, the MNS chief said.

"Former chief minister of Maharashtra, late Vasantdada Patil once said 'there is Mumbai in Maharashtra but there is no Maharashtra in Mumbai'. Outsiders are deciding our future. Who has given them this right? They should go back to their native lands and make Mumbai out of their cities and towns," Raj said.

Asked if he would go for a poll alliance, Raj said, "I am not deliberately looking for any political alliance. But, I am open to any political party approaching us to form an alliance. I will, however, not abandon my agenda (the Marathi issue) at any cost."

On the emerging trend in Mumbai cooperative societies of selectively allowing people like vegetarians and specific communities, Raj said, "this is absolutely wrong and is being done purposely with support from parties like BJP."

Commenting on the likeness between him and his uncle and Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, Raj said, "I was born and brought up in that family. I do not consciously imitate him; it's in my blood. My likeness to him is a matter of natural influence, something I cannot avoid."

Greeting Brothers and sisters.I am a member of MNS (Maharstara Navnirman Sena)I shall like to tell all Indians that,Please don’t be get diverted your thoughts only by looking the “breaking news” of IBN 7 and AAJ TAK.First thing is that editors of these channels don’t know Marathi language. They divert the news in such a way that “TRP” rate should be more for there breaking news.(few )(We have another exm of Sourav Gangulies interview at his home. Bhaiyya editor. Edited it in differently … after Ganguly has to say. I never said it.)Raj Thakare case is also the same.Regarding expatriate issue,We will never sit ideal for unbalanced system.(If local people will not get the admission for the colleges due to expatriate students , balance of system will loose. We coming together have to work and think on how Bihar can be converted into a developed state. So that Biharis need not to

One should read history of MH and find out what biasing been done by NI to MH.

Non Maharashtrians wasting time here by Proud Maraha on 10 Oct 2008

All these non maharashtrians unnesessarily wasting their time.. This is an internal issue of Maharashtra and your opinion doesnt matter.. I am a maharashtrian having strong opinion against Modi for what he has done against Muslims but my opinion doesnt count bcoz its locals from gujarat whose view matter most. Same here all those who are posting views dont even have any knowledge about ground realities in the state, your opinion is not at all called for. Now this battle has gone out of any northindian Lalu and Amar made a big mistake by generalising Maharashtrians and made comments on media and the Hindi media again followed with Biased coverage.. Now Raj's support has gone beyond what you can imagine.. Look and do something for your own state..there are thousands of problems..bring atleast one to limelight and do something abt it ..rather than wasting time on internal topics on Maha.. Maha knows hows to build their state and have done so till date itsGDP is double of immediate state

Hypocrite Thackerays by Hardik verma on 17 Oct 2008

Raj Thackeray first, as he took lead over his beleaguered family members Balasaheb and Udhav over the “Maharastra belongs to Marathis” issue. Let me ask a question to Thackerays from where they belong to? Someone who is so vehemently involved in safeguarding Marathi peoples right by virtue of vandalizing properties belong to North Indians and making provocative statements against them is not aware of his own family history. Thackerays belongs to Madhya Pradesh basically and these are no different, as their forefathers settled in Maharastha long time back. Mr. Udhav please take note of this. The one who have no idea about his own identity and background should not be talking about his father’s stake “ Mumbai belong to my Father”. Now as his family has already spent 3 generation in Maharashtra and they consider themselves to be Marathis, then same rationale is applicable to other as well which I think they don’t consider. I have a question to ask please tell me the exact time one need to spend in maharastra too be deemed Marathi?

extremism at its best! by Megha on 10 Oct 2008

Raj Thackrey has conveniently forgotten that Mumbai is Mumbai because of all the Maharashtrians and Non-Maharashtrians who reside there. North Indians have also given a lot to that city; it is a two way road! And God forbid, if he somehow fulfils his dream of driving out all non-maharashtrians out from the state, it simply wont be the same ever again. I fail to understand, why doesn't the court put gag order on him?As for Nano project, Indians should be thankful that it did not go to Maharashtra. The next thing Raj Thackrey would have done is to have all Marathi employees for this project!

Marathi Vanmanoos by Pink Floyd on 10 Oct 2008

This marathi Vanmanoos needs to understand that investment is made in peaceful places. Tata left Singur to go to Gujrat citing safety of his workers. Why would he go to Maharashtra when North Indians are being targeted there.

Raj and Marathi asmita by vinayak on 10 Oct 2008

Looking at comments, one feels that there is a general bias against Marathi people. The bias is understandable. It reflects failure on their part to do anything for their states. Social development in these Northern states has only gone towards touching feet of rajas and seeking reservations.

Vote and make your presence felt by Iniy on 10 Oct 2008

Well I suggest every migrant to Mumbai to start voting, you can as any ordinary citizen living in a place for more than 6 months. This will make fanatics like Raj to shut up forever.

What's happening to India? by Indian on 10 Oct 2008

Raj Thackeray has taken the parochailism to the extreme. It is nothing but an extension of the current flavour of hatred and narrow minded ness. These days we only hear about tensions, clashes and unrest throughout India. Be it in the name of Religion, Lanuage, Caste etc...When will we people realize that these goons belong to every political party as well as fundemental organzations depend on these hatred and public unrest for their very existense. What has Raj done for the great state of Maharashtra? What has he done for Mumbai? How did he amass so much wealth over the period? If we pursue this path I can only see trouble for India. Law of the land should by uphold and all the guilty should be punished irrespective of religious, party, linguistic or other orientation. Until that is done GOONs like RAJ will have a field day.

Courts should take him up by Ambedkar on 09 Oct 2008

What happened to the court order from Jamshedpur court? I think the judiciary alone can do justice to strange ideas of this young man. Protecting Marathi culture cannot be the at price of national sovereignty. Human cost in terms of future riots is too much to pay. As it is, every culture undergoes changes with time given a globalized environment. No region is exempted from it. Marathis are no less special .. nor more..

Raj is absolutely right by Raj Thackrey on 09 Oct 2008

As a Maharastrian, I completely agree with Raj thackrey, people from north have done enough injustice to the marathi people, now its time to pay back. The other states are just beggers, its because of Maharashtra the other states are surviving as there is not infrastructure there. Give me an example of one state which is contributing more to the economy of india.

CLASH OF CULTURES by NUFRENDZS on 09 Oct 2008

I THINK WHAT RAJ IS MAINLY CONCERNED IS ABOUT PRESERVING THE CULTURE OF MARATHIS . CULTURALLY NORTH INDIANS ARE HAVE DIFFERENT QUALITIES . THEY ARE BOISTEROUS , SLIMY , LOW INTEGRITY , NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN , ABOVE ALL THEIR STANDARD OF LIVING VERY DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS --- SO , WE ARE GETTING TO SEE " CLASH OF CULTURES " . IN MAHARASHTRA . Even Bangalore is facing the same CULTURAL SUFFOCATION due to large influx north indians seeking IT jobs . BUT IT IS INEVITABLE one has to live with it .

peace by Dr.Raj Gupta on 09 Oct 2008

there is only one way to survival with dignity, is formation of hindu rashtra , like japan is for japanese, china is for chinese, iran is for iranian, america is for american, britain is for british ......hence hindustan is for hindu.

Maharashtra is much bigger than Raj by C. Nair on 09 Oct 2008

Raj seems to be too blank to notice the fact there is a Maharashtra in New Delhi, U.P, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, NE States, JharKhand, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, AP, TN, Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, in fact, any state, any place, any job, any profession- all over India. Raj's polarised vision can accommodate the Maharashtra of Shivaji, Tilak, Gokhale, Kher, etc. only to his own Mumbai stretched to the border of Maharashtra, with him as PM!

How is Omar Abdullah different? Is it because he can get up in the Lok Sabha what Hurriet and Raj Thackeray are saying on the outside?

senseless by Markk on 09 Oct 2008

Abe idiot, he is not fighting for independence. Go... have some coffee... wake up and then come back here. Comparing everything with Kashmir / islamic terrorism seems to be in fashion these days. Raj Thackaeray could be a criminal - not terrorist or a separatist.

Raj does'nt have proper education. He wont get even peon's job in any where in India, thats why he is stuck to one place and cant see beyond that. His brought up ls like this. Media is making him local hero among the fools. Media should not write or show on TV anything about him then his actions will die natural death.
