Kolkata, September 13 With the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) posting the answersheets of the 2008 Board examination toppers on its website, both the teachers and the students have found the best way to answer a question to get the maximum marks.

The CBSE has posted the high scoring answerscripts in streams of science, social science and mathematics of Class X students and of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, accountancy and business studies of Class XII.

While the Board has not mentioned the names of students with the answersheets, answers of the language papers are not posted online.

Teachers said the online display of answers would help students to score better in examinations. Principal of Birla High School for Boys, Mukta Nain said: “It will give a student an idea of the model answers.”

Principal of Mahadevi Birla Girls School, Malini Bhagat said, “It is a very innovative mechanism. I have told my students and teachers to follow the answersheets of the toppers.”

On why the board has not posted the answers of the language subjects, teachers feel that these subjects are highly subjective. “Since there can be different ways to attempt a question of a language paper, the board has decided not to disclose answersheets of these subjects,” said a teacher.

Teachers also termed the CBSE the most progressive examination Board that has been gaining an edge over the other Boards. Within a few years, the number of schools affiliated to CBSE in Kolkata has increased to 30, principals of several schools pointed out.
