In his address, DIG Vivek Gogia emphasised on traffic education and announced that the city police are working to smoothen the traffic flow and ensure safety of motorists on the city roads.

During the last one week, Chandigarh Traffic Police stressed upon traffic education and held several workshops and awareness drives for people from all walks of life, including rickshaw-pullers, autorickshaw drivers, bus and truck drivers, school principals and even school children. Even senior citizens were made to participate in the workshop specifically designed for them, during which, traffic police personnel were instructed to be polite towards senior citizens in the event of a traffic violation.

DIG Gogia, who was also the chief guest on the occasion, congratulated the traffic police on successful completion of the road-safety week. He even thanked the Traffic Marshals, members of the Traffic Advisory Committee, media and members of the traffic staff that helped in making the event a success. Awards were presented to winners of various activities that were organised all over Chandigarh. Other activities included painting competitions, scooter rallies, skill-test for Police Control Room drivers and workshops for truck and bus drivers.
