EnTrip, an online website that plans to set up base in Pune, promises to take you round the world on a backpack

People around the world are hitting the road on the drop of a hat and the web world with its mine of information is making the world a smaller place for each of us with every passing day. And EnTrip, an online web-application for modern travellers that connects you with other backpacking vagabonds and lets you chart your trip on the map of the world and keeps everyone in touch throughout the journey, has come as a sigh of relief for peregrinators. The UK-based privately owned company and an irresistible travel utility for those who love travelling is now planning to establish its network in Pune.

The co-founders - Nicholas Adams, Anthony Hsiao and Adil Mohammed were looking for a better location for EnTrip overseas development and because of the increasing IT development in India, and as they thought India was interesting and relatively cheap, they decided to set up base here. And to begin with they started with Pune, as they found it more appealing and better as compared to massive cities like Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai where they had already conducted their researches regarding their establishments. Also the most special feature about India that attracted their attention were the youth from Pune who were full of enthusiasm.

By logging onto EnTrip, as a customer you will be able to easily keep your family and friends up to date and experience the EnTrip services and trips to the location provided. The website makes it easier for venturesome travel enthusiasts by acting as a platform for travel-related services and helps them find local information, attractions and events. Through the site, members can collaborate with friends to plan their budget, packing lists and would be able to print their itinery too. The site also enables members to upload photos and share their experiences. "At the moment, what users can see on EnTrip is mainly a focus on sharing travel experiences on the map, which we think is a more meaningful way to share them, and we integrate deeply with facebook and we will also be rolling out new and diverse features over the next few weeks," says Hsiao.

Last summer of 2007, one of the co-founders and a passionate traveller Adams, went for a road trip through USA. As preparation for his 11,000 mile-long trip to USA, he wanted to capture and share all of his adventures and his experiences with his family and friends back home. As he could not find any web solution to enable such sharing experience, he set up Trip, which later became the main core of the EnTrip System. And when developing the idea further, together with Hsiao, co-founder of EnTrip Ltd, they took the idea further of setting up a company to make this experience more appealing. Putting the idea together and gaining specific experience from Adil Mohammed, former technical consultant, the trio became complete and together they decided to take EnTrip forward.

Hsiao also adds, "Our target market is English-speaking 'flashpackers', usually facebook users, generally from US or Europe. We do not specifically focus on the Indian market at the moment, but of course, welcome our Indian users also!" EnTrip lets users create trips and integrates a range of existing third-party travel services into the trip, making the whole flashpacking, around the world trip experience literally at the click of the mouse.
