Mumbai After battling the terrorists for two days at the Oberoi-Trident, the National Security Guards on Friday cleared the hotel of militants, killing two of them while six bodies were recovered from the premises.

"The Oberoi-Trident is now in under our control. The two terrorists holed up there have been killed," NSG Director General J K Dutt said outside the hotel in South Mumbai.

Six bodies were also recovered from the hotel, he said.

The NSG has recovered two AK-47 assault rifles, one pistol and grenades, some unexploded, from the terrorists, he said, adding the explosives will now be defused.

"We are presently sanitising every room to make sure no undesirable elements are there and relief can be provided to guests there," Dutt said.

NSG secures Nariman House, terrorists killed

The National Security Guards stormed into the Nariman House and got full control of the building by killing the armed terrorists. However, the last of the militants holed up in Taj Mahal hotel kept crack commandos at bay engaging them in a fierce gunbattle.

"Five hostages were killed by the terrorists. First floor of the Nariman House is yet to be cleared," NSG DG J K Dutta said.

Muslims are not terrorist ............. and terrorists are not muslims. Although these people fight in the name of religion but Islam does not permit / allow such an act. Such acts of terrorism are stricktly prohibited in Islam.

Terrorism by Dr.Jag Kanniah on 28 Nov 2008

We must search, chase, and destroy terrorist even outside our borders. We also have to declare this policy openly. The question still hovering is how the terrorist passed through coast guard vigilance. Our neighbouring terrorist nations will not curb terrorism. It was created by them. It is rather stupid to believe that they will take action on their own. warning them timidly by reading written scripts on TV is of no use.

Day 3: Israelis still hostage, NSG begins final assault by Sastry on 28 Nov 2008

Manmohan Singh is such a stupid and impotent PM. Does he really believe that any country in the world takes him seriously when he says we will crush terror elements etc.? He keeps on warning neighboring countries but does not take any action against homegrown terror elements and is utterly afraid of taking any action for the fear of losing vote banks. He must be utterly naive and stupid to believe that Pakistan (or for that matter Bangladesh) will take any action against militants operating from their soil. Pakistan and Bangladesh are such rogue countries that their primary, if not sole, objective of existence is to destroy India. There are people in India who are only too willing to extend all help to Pakistan and Bangladesh in carying out its mission. Adding fuel to the fire, secular media and secular parties are not far behind in helping the terror elements. Today, in India, terror elements have human rights. Ordinary law-abiding citizens do not.

terror attacks a surprise or a letdown by shyam pillai on 28 Nov 2008

The US who calls us their buddies havent had to courtesy to let us know their intel gathering about these planned attacks i am sure that their intel along with the british intel would have got a tip off about these happenings way before it happened why didnt they warn the indian govt they do seem to have gyan about all the happenings in the world.I pray that there isnt a single Bombayite involved in this callous act as Bombay has always been a hope for every aspirant and homeless individual and families in our country right from the times of the british raj.Long live the people of Bombay and pray the culprits are answerable to each and every family member who has lost a near or dear one in this ghastly act of spreading mayhem.

hang and shoot the terrorists after making them vomit all the secrets like their saudi style. No compassion, or two year prison. Then send an unmanned aircraft from south to continously bomb their training camps. US/Afghan will finish them from north. India from south, then the pakistani citizens will gain couragesay enough and flush this terrorists

How to tacke terrorism by Ravi Kishore on 28 Nov 2008

We should create a stronger community involving all religious sections. The so called religious leaders need to be taught Tolerence, peacefulness and togetherness. Development and prosperity should be driven to all sections of every community. Any religious propaganda should be throroughly curtailed and those people should be taught that they acheive nothing through this attrociuos acts. People are to be educated against such henious acts. Any revenge attacks on any community should not take place. India need stronger Intelligence, political alliance, tougher terroroism laws and more power for police officer. This is all easier said then done. Let be optimistic and lets start to put things in its place before there is another attack. My sincere thanks to all police officers and citizens who dared the terrorists.

Fight against terrorists ‘almost coming to end’: Police by K. R. Venkataramaiah on 28 Nov 2008

No sir, Commissioner Hassan Gafoor. The large scale terror attacks have started. When the police is focusing on innocent Sadhus and brave Indian Military staff, the real terrorists are having a field day. Please Mr. Gafoor, you are under pressure to prove your loyalty to big ones in Govt. This does not help. Please resign and take responsibility for a massive failure in police duty.

Lets look for a Solution by Chandresh Karmokar on 28 Nov 2008

i belive in that the time as come to act,we all indian and specially from mumbai should no longer trade with pakistan or pakistani born and bought up in any place of the world. and all the security fromour ministers should be pulled out no security for any minister. the police should be indian police reporting to president and no one else and should be given the best latest wepons, best cars, and best traning. we have to look for the solution and take this as a learning phase. and if possible do not trade with any muslim.in a demoratic country very one is equal and there should not be any special case for any sect, caste. lets be one and fight this and we can do it

We are to blame too by Prashant Shelley on 28 Nov 2008

Dear CompatriotsWe Indians are the softest target for terrorists. Everybody is commenting on how ruthlessness of terrorists, how well they co-ordinated! ect. Did anyone discuss the other side of the coin? How inefficient our security services and our politicians are? In this age of AK-47 most police guards hold a wood stick to guard public places as they did in 1947. Part of blame must go to the state government and security services. We have suffered so many times and still not learnt lessons? I have travelled 58 countries in the world, my heart cries when I see India's security system and politicians. The most inefficient place in the world. Of course terrorists wil come and kill us, no where in the world they would get that kind of lousy structure to wrack. We should fix our politicians first. In 50 years America was hit twice, we are hit 50 times in 2 years. Please sort the problem from its root. Terrorism and murders by them are just an outcome of ridiculous
