Oberoi attack

Mumbai After battling the terrorists for two days at the Oberoi-Trident, the National Security Guards on Friday cleared the hotel of militants, killing two of them while six bodies were recovered from the premises.

"The Oberoi-Trident is now in under our control. The two terrorists holed up there have been killed," NSG Director General J K Dutt said outside the hotel in South Mumbai.

Six bodies were also recovered from the hotel, he said.

The NSG has recovered two AK-47 assault rifles, one pistol and grenades, some unexploded, from the terrorists, he said, adding the explosives will now be defused.

"We are presently sanitising every room to make sure no undesirable elements are there and relief can be provided to guests there," Dutt said.

NSG secures Nariman House, terrorists killed

The National Security Guards stormed into the Nariman House and got full control of the building by killing the armed terrorists. However, the last of the militants holed up in Taj Mahal hotel kept crack commandos at bay engaging them in a fierce gunbattle.

"Five hostages were killed by the terrorists. First floor of the Nariman House is yet to be cleared," NSG DG J K Dutta said.

We are together against this terrorism, India by Shoaib on 27 Nov 2008

I am deeply grieved by these events in Mumbai. Being a muslim and Pakistani only I can tell you that my heart is feeling the pain of all those affected by this. I just want to ask all my indian brothers, that please be patient and let the indian security forces control these terrorists. Please let the facts come out and then decide whether muslim or pakistani people were involved.May be this is what these terrorists want all of us to start blaming each other and they walk away scot free. There is no hindu or islamist terrorist. A terrorist is a terrorist because he does not care that the person who is going to die belongs to which religion or country.May Allah protect both India and Pakistan.

Two mafia groups in the name of two parallel governments befall on the Indian Public; it seems. by V A KRISHNAN on 27 Nov 2008

Pity, it looks like the country public in India are ruled by two parallel governments or mafias, one which calls itself nationalistic and the other a group of terrorist outfit; both having scant respect for the lives of the common man in the country. I cannot imagine the height of shamelessness when somebody like the so-called PM announces to nation that it seems evident that the terrorists are from foreign countries; does he mean to say that they are from Gautemela or Papau New Guinea ? Is there any shame left with the politicians in this cuntry ?

ATS wasted resources in service of political masters, enabled jehadis to plan and act by Rajat Khanna on 27 Nov 2008

The Congress started using the ATS to fight the BJP, diverting resources away from the war on terror. So the jehadis were able to plan and implement their dirty act. What this country really needs to do is get rid of the Italian brigade and appoint a PM like Narendra Modi.

What Next ??? by K.Pramod.Raj on 27 Nov 2008

Let it be the terrorist attack on Mumbai or the serial blasts that shocked the country or whatever. We, the Indians, are accustomed or forced to get accustomed and get acquainted to our surroundings. We may remember this event for a week at max and then forget about it totally. Thats the mistake we do. Learn from our mistakes. Make the Border survillance, Intelligence, and very very importantly the arm power of our Army men and Police personnel strong. Its a shame for seeing those terrorists carrying advanced automatic weapons and our Police force fighting with ordinary pistols. Improve the armoury. Another important thing to concentrate is Corruption. Try to improve all this, I bet India would be none inferior to US or UK.

Attack on India by Salim Ambar Inamdar on 27 Nov 2008

Mumbai Police has done itself proud today and so have all the other agencies, including firemen. What is happening is unprecedented and even the best police force in the world would’ve found itself in a corner while facing such an attack, but we are doing as good a job as anybody else could. However once this is all over we must analyze the chinks in our armour. The need for better intelligence gathering, coordination between the police force of various states and central agencies, efficient investigation of such crimes and speedy trials and convictions are some urgently required measures we must implement. At the same time we must guard ourselves against finger pointing and resorting to simplistic solutions like 'death without trial’ to terror suspects. Till date no government at the centre or state has put forth a credible defense against terror, so maybe we need a new approach. For that we will have to forget our 'political' differences and unite in this attack on our country.

Wash out terrorism from our "Mother Land" by saju on 27 Nov 2008

prevention is better than cure, then y we hesitate to act against this cruelty, whether pakistan supports terrorism then y dont isolate them from this world. India must shut all the door ways against pakistan. BSF,Other militay forces and police forces must be alert while they are on duty, shoot at sight will be the policy of these reputed force against terrorists. All the people in our country including me must be conscious and careful about our nation. Our economy is fast growing therefore other nations practically will not support us for anti terrorism, but they will theoretically support(bcz they also feared of terrorism). Pakistan also think so that these type of attacks will lag or delayed our nations development. So beware and take precautions against these hidden objective that satisfied through the bloody idiotic terrors. "Jai hind..............""Vande mathrum"from a patriot.

Punish those responsible without mercy by Nasser on 27 Nov 2008

The whole country is shocked by the cruelty of the terrorists. The terrorists and their masterminds should be nabbed and should be executed in public after quick legal proceedings, so that they and others like them will never try to repeat this kind of crime. This incident and the killing of top police officials among other brave policemen, shows that the police needs more Training and better weapons and protective gears to handle such situations. On the political front, An action body involving all sections of society including poitical and non political leaders should start working on ways to find and recommend ways to rectify the root causes of such situation. As of now, we need to stand behind our brave forces and the administration who are doing their best to bring the situation under control. Lets also pray for those who lost their lives and for those who are recovering from their injuries

Thanks God. There is no bomb blast near 10, Janpath. Country is still safe and secure under UPA Govt, no matter how many Aam Adami were butchered/killed in recent past. These politicians and so called seculars have ruined the vital organs of a society/country in the name of religion, caste.reservation etc. When mediocres rule the country, such attacks are no big surprise.
