Pronounced lak-sa kur-ree
This is the traditional dish of the Malaysian and Singaporean people. Served in coconut curry soup, the dish is also popular in Australia as a result of migration. The term laksa comes from the Sanskrit word—laksha—which means a lakh in hindi. The main ingredients of laksa curry include tofu puffs, fish sticks, shrimp, prawns and low-fat milk. To add to the taste, one can garnish it with Vietnamese coriander or laksa leaf which is also known as daun kesum in Malay.
In Mumbai, you can try some yum laksa curry at Noodle Bar in Phoenix Mills, Bandra and Kala Ghoda; Lemon Grass, Tangy Tamarind and Thai Ban in Bandra.
