The youths had come to Chandigarh for shopping. The dead have been identified as Rakwinder Singh alias Rinku and Prince while those injured have been identified as Navin Sharma and Manish Kumar.
They have been admitted to PGIMER.
The accident occurred last late night around 1 am.
Traffic on the highway remained disrupted till 11 am on Wednesday till the truck was removed from the highway.
According to sources, Navin owned the Tata Safari while Prince was driving the car and Rinku was sitting with him.
The accident proved fatal for both of them and they died on the spot.
Locals took Navin and Manish to PGI.
Kharar police have registered a case on charges of rash and negligent driving causing death against the driver, Kishore Singh.
Police said the driver is absconding. A case has been registered based on the complaint of an injured Navin Sharma.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the wheels of the truck on the driver’s side broke.
In another accident, an autorickshaw driver, Khushaal Singh, was killed, when his vehicle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Sohana.
A case has been registered with Sohana police and investigation is on.
