New Delhi, February 9 With the arrest of a 22-year-old woman and a man, the police today solved the Amar Colony fire case in which a 45-year-old driver was burnt to death in a guesthouse on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nisha, a security guard, and her second lover Brij Mohan (22) alias Brijesh had planned Joginder Singh's murder, police said. They killed Singh and burnt the body in a room in the guest house of Narmada Valley Corporation at 28 Ring Road, Lajpat Nagar-IV so that the incident appeared like an accident, police said. Nisha reportedly wanted to get rid of Singh, her first lover, after she grew fondness for Brijesh.

Brijesh is a field superviser in the same security agency where Nisha works. Singh was a driver in the same agency. The police had received information on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday about a fire in the guesthouse. The blaze was brought under control with the help of fire tenders and half burnt body of Singh was found apart from a bottle of Aristocrat whisky and glasses. Police also found stab marks on left cheek and eyebrow of the body that raised suspicion and a case was registered at the Amar Colony Police Station.

Brijesh asked Nisha to meet Singh on the evening of February 5 somewhere in Delhi. Nisha asked Singh to arrange for a safe room for their meeting and insisted him to meet another friend, Brijesh, police said. Singh had reportedly asked for a room from his uncle Mahender Singh, an employee at the guesthouse. During the meeting, Brijesh offered whisky to Singh and then stabbed him with knife. "Thereafter, he poured the remaining whisky on Singh, set the room on fire and fled," a senior police officer said. He also took away Singh's wallet and mobile, police said.
