The two somehow managed to enter the bedroom of Bhagwan Kukadia in the night in the night and steal Rs 25,000 in cash, jewellery worth Rs 2.10 lakh and two mobile phones worth Rs. 10,000.
The incident came to light on Friday morning when Kukadia woke up and found the door of his almirah open. He immediately called his wife and children to the room. They then searched for Bhim Bahadursinh and Krishna Choudhary, the two servants, but did not find them in their room. Kukadia then contacted the Varachha police and lodged a complaint of theft against the duo.
Bhagwan provided the police with their (servants’) addresses and other details, including their photographs, their relatives' addresses and their phone numbers.
Inspector V B Patel said, “We have started investigations and have summoned the sister of Krishna and the father of Bhim who were staying in a nearby area for questioning. We are interrogating them to locate the two. Both accused belong to Nepal. We suspect they might have fled to Mumbai. We have also taken the addresses of their relatives in Mumbai and are looking into all possibilities.
According to the police, Bahadursinh and Choudhary had hatched the plan in advance and had left Kukadia’s bedroom door open on Thursday night.
