Amritsar, March 11 Two tantriks, identified as Harbhajan Singh of Bachiwind and Baba Satnam Singh of Dauke village, were today arrested along with a woman for killing a child, Harsimran Singh, last week.

A missing report was registered on March 4, but the investigation revealed that the one-and-half-year-old child was "sacrificed" on the advice of the tantriks by his maternal grandmother Sukhdev Kaur.

The child went missing from his maternal grandparents' village, where he had gone along with his mother. Child's father Gurwinder Singh had reported the matter to the police.

When the police questioned child's maternal aunt, Satinder Kaur, who is childless, she broke down and revealed that her mother-in-law had consulted the tantriks, said police sources.

Child's body was recovered from a gutter, adjoining a toilet in the house.

The police have registered a case under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC at Sarai Amanat Khan police station.
