Subdivisional Police Officer Chandernagore, K Mukherjee said 42-year-old Shyam Bhattacharya was declared brought dead and the other, 24-year-old Manik Pal, was rushed to the Walsh Hospital in Serampore where he died.
Both were engaged as contract workers by a private company and were on the morning shift, police said.
Bhattacharya was a resident of Khardah and Pal was from Ausgram village in Burdwan district.
On March 28, a dumper driver was found dead with his head crushed on the project site.
