Lucknow At a time when senior BJP leaders are claiming that the party will win a majority in UP, Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath Saturday embarrassed the party again by claiming no party, not even the BJP, will get a majority.

Yogi said the two largest national parties, the BJP and the Congress, had failed to grow as alternatives to the BSP and the SP, although the BJP was in race for the number 1 position in the state. He predicted that mid-term polls will be held in the state within the next one year.

“On the basis of polling trends and feedback received in the first two phases, I believe no party will get clear majority in UP,” Yogi said. “Exit polls placed the BJP at fourth place. I said the BJP is in race for number 1 only to boost the morale of party workers and attract voters.”

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi refused to comment on Yogi’s statement. “It is his own opinion,” he said.
