‘UPA a farmer-friendly govt’

Amritsar, February 11 Local Congress leaders, including former ministers and MLAs, today welcomed the statement of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, saying that the UPA government would soon announce a special package for the farmers. Former minister Sardul Singh, former MLAs Jasbir Singh Dimpa and Harpartap Singh Ajnala, MLA Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria and District Congress Committee (Amritsar) rural president Sukhjinder Pal Singh Lalli Majithia termed the upcoming SAD-BJP rally in Delhi on February 26 as a political stunt. “The UPA government is a farmer-friendly government and continuously makes efforts for uplifting the poor and farmers,” said Lally Majithia.
