New Delhi, October 30: The BJP charged the Manmohan Singh government with failure in four key areas and claimed that the UPA has become a perfect example of how a coalition should not be.

Lashing out at the Congress-led coalition, Leader of the Opposition L K Advani said the government will not last till 2009 and suggested that mid-term polls were imminent and could be held even before Delhi Assembly elections next year.

Advani listed the issues of ‘price rise, security situation, minoritysm’ and inability to manage a coalition as the four major areas of failure of the Manmohan Singh government.

"If NDA was an example of an ideal coalition, the UPA has become an example of how a coalition should not be," he said after releasing a publication titled Sankalp brought out by the Mookerjee Smruti Nyas.

He also blamed the lack of far-sighted vision of earlier Congress governments on Tibet for the tension with China.

Addressing the function, senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu lashed out at the Congress for dubbing the JD(S)-BJP combine in Karnataka as an ‘unholy alliance’ and asked it to settle its differences with the Left first.

Delhi main dosti, Kolkata main Kushti, yahan cooperation, Trivandrum main operation and beech beech main separation (friendship in Delhi, fight in Kolkata, cooperation here, operation in Trivandrum and occasional separation), he said referring to the Congress-Left ties.

He also slammed RJD chief Lalu Prasad for demanding the arrest of senior BJP leader L K Advani in connection with the Tehelka tapes, saying he should remember that he himself was out of jail on bail.
