Us drone attack

Washington Despite US President Barack Obama’s admittance that Washington was open to dialogues with the moderate elements of the Taliban, fficials have said that the US is planning a dramatic intensification of the Predator drone attacks on the Taliban in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

"There will be talks but the Taliban are going to experience a lot of pain first, on both sides of the border," a top US diplomat said.

Earlier, Obama had accepted that the US led ‘War on terror’ in Afghanistan and Pakistan may never see success, as the situation has gone out of control from the Pak government’s hand.

"As long as you have got safe havens in these border regions that the Pakistani government can't control or reach in effective ways, we're going to continue to see vulnerability on the Afghan side of the border,” 'The Telegraph' quoted Obama, as saying.

The US special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard Holbrooke has appointed Afghan policy expert, Barnett Rubin to co-ordinate an approach route for talks with the Taliban.

Rubin had proposed earlier that NATO forces would cease its operation in the region if the Taliban agrees to discontinue using Afghan or Pakistani soil for planning terrorist attacks and recruiting operatives for international terrorism.

Deputy Commander of NATO-led forces in Afghanistan, Royal Marine Lieutenant General Jim Dutton also viewed that without a massive crackdown on the Taliban in Pakistan, the outlawed group would be a difficult opponent to defeat.

"When there have been ceasefire deals on the eastern border with Pakistan, it's been easier for insurgents to move freely across the border," Lieutenant Dutton said.

"When they felt that they were under pressure from the Pakistani army, that freedom to move is bound to curtail,” he added.

US realize all its mistakes by Hasan Abidi on 09 Mar 2009

Intensifying attacks on Taleban will further radicalised more and more people and will be a great challenge to the US and the world peace. All US tactics have failed and now US is at verge of a defeat and it should accept the reality that its fight against terrorism has aggrevated the terror problems worldover. If US is really serious in destroying the terrorists and their infrastructure, it has to accommodate the regional powers, local people, and also stop killing and targeting the innocents. Drone attacks will kill innocents people, children, and women and for that US will be confronted by those people and after that US will label them as terrorists and the such chain will continue. If US is serious about eradicating the terrorism, it shoul do (i) destroy Israel (ii) leave Iraq (iii) stop threateninng Iran (iv)train Afgnaese to fight Taleban (v)stop manufacturing WMDs (vi) vacate Afghanistan (vii)concentrate on its economy. If US does not follow all these, it will collapse.

grow up to becoming sensible humans by sarma on 09 Mar 2009

mentality has to be changed. why you want to destroy isreal ? bombay killings are nt innocents killed by muslims, as you complain about drones killing innocent people ? change your mindset.

Change your mindset altogether by Hasan Abidi on 09 Mar 2009

Our mindset are clear Mr Sarma. We have never justified the killings of innocents. Bet it either Mumbai or elsewhere. Be it killing of Dravidians by Aryans, or ethnic cleansing of muslims in Gujarat and elsewhere in India. Killing of innocents people across India by whomsoever is comdemned by all muslims. Israel has been occupying the lands of Arabs which is the primary reason of muslims annoynace and radicalisation of many muslim youths who took the path of violence. But one violence can not be condemned unless and until the state sponsored violence does not stop and eliminiated by whatsoever means. OK. Killing of Dravidians by Aryans should also be condemned. Killiong of Malegaon muslims by Hindu terrorists should also be condemned by people like you. The hindus who are looting the national assets by way of bribes should also be labelled as financial terrorism which is more dangerous and heinous than killing of innocecent people. So say no to any kind of violence, terrorism. JAI HIND.
