The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners had requested Dipak K Desai, owner of the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada where six cases of Hepatitis have been confirmed, to voluntarily stop practicing medicine, until the Board's investigation into allegations has been completed.
The Board said Desai had agreed to surrender his license, pending a probe into the centre's operations but did not give a timeframe as to how long the investigation may take.
A second Indian doctor linked to the scandal Vishvinder Sharma also resigned from the State Medical Board but did not turn over his medical license, local media reports said.
The FBI has also joined the investigation of the Endoscopy Center for possible Medicare fraud. Investigators want to know whether the center billed Medicare for 30-minute appointments that did not last that long.
The clinic may have also committed fraud for billing Medicare for two vials in instances when only one was used, officials said.
As many as 40,000 people may have been infected with the deadly Hepatitis C virus or HIV from the clinic over the last four years, officials said, adding six of Desai's facilities have been closed.
Desai, who has been practicing medicine in Nevada for 28 years, is reportedly an alumnus of Gujarat University.
Dubai is supposed to be one modern place in the Gulf region. But this impression will disapper once a person gets admitted to one of the government hospitals there. Many of the doctors and engineers in these hospitals are from Egypt and they are members of the Islamic terrorist group called Islamic brotherhood. Their most important qualification is the five times prayer and most of them try all types of medicines on the unsuspecting locals and expatriates. Use of banned drugs in the west are regularly practiced there. If a burn victim is admitted in Rashid Hospital the patient is sure to die from infection as the air supplied to such wards are not sterile. Many Egyptian and Palestinian engineers with fake certificates are employed there and there were unavoidable deaths from legionaires diseses from the nearby cooling towers as these staffs never had any idea of these type of problems. Many private hospitals like the Welcare hospitals were not given approvals to operate in Dubai but by employing government staff and bribing the departments they got operating license. From improper autoclaving to use of substandard materials in the Dubai hospitals are common.

He had agood business and a good life but penny pinching unsafe practices will cost him millions .Greed has taken another victim down its ravenous gullet.It is the unfortunate patient who has contacted these diseases who is the real victim.
As a final note, these docs have surrendered their 'licenses" Just watch these two will surrender their lives in the priosn...it depends on how many counts!!!
The second generation Indians grown as an American knows about the problems, laws, etc. the first genertaion Americans, educated and uneducated alike, run most of the businesses as a family unit---meaning the trciks and trades (you know hat I mean--evading taxes; not ringing all the transactions; I have witnessed several of these happenning). this is fine with India as IT in India go by percentage on loots. In U.S. econmic offenses are treated WORSE than Murder. The chian of Motels had a problem but somehow they escaped but still this is simmering with investigators. What happenned to the big south Indian hotel in berkley. The family is in Jail for illegal labor practices; prostitution bonded labor, etc. for a small population of us (say around a million, my guess), the crime rate is going up in a larming rate. Indians have to understand one thing---India is different. anyway, Indian Govt is welcoming us back. Now we have money power, knowledge plus NRI status so that we can come to Induia to LOOT more---importantly loot SAFELY!!!
This is NOT news. This is common by many of OUR doctors in the U.S and in India. IN 90% of the time, mostly these are family run businesses. their mind works like this. if I save 100 dolloras a day for a syringe, then for 365 days, i say so much. this caluculations go on...Like if I make the gas pumps run faster, and if I save 28 ml for a litre or around 100 ml for an American gallon, i could save so make more money. Around 100 ml/gallon is also allowed as evaportaion losses. but these idiots do not know that American laws are tough and with circumsatncial eveidence alone one can go to gallows. many pump owners are in Jail now (in NJ and california0Put these sharmas and esais into jail. they are a disgrace to ALL Indians alike....
You got opportunity to show your smartness and calling shots. Savithriji these Sharama and Desai's are long time practicing in USA and I don't think they did wrong all the time. Some time these Sharma's and Desai's are not responsible for happening. In country we have seen Savings
