New Delhi, February 25: Facing an unprecedented revolt from his Davis Cup team, Indian skipper Leander Paes dropped a couple of spots to 17th, while his estranged partner Mahesh Bhupathi clung to his 19th position in the latest ATP doubles rankings issued on Monday.

Paes has 2445 points, while Bhupathi has 2320 points.

Paes' position as Indian Davis Cup skipper will be reviewed by the AITA after top players -- Mahesh Bhupathi, Rohan Bopanna, Prakash Amritraj and Karan Rastogi-- wrote a letter to the game's governing body in the country, refusing to play under him.

The Olympic bronze medallist's criticism of Amritraj during the Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan is being cited as one of the reasons for the players' revolt.

Meanwhile, in the WTA rankings, Sania Mirza, who was once again in the eye of storm after refusing to play in next month's Bangalore Open to avoid controversies, remained static at 32nd in the singles chart.

Her doubles' ranking also remained unchanged at 23rd.
