"It is worrisome," Singh said as the violation of the five-year-old ceasefire was taken up by the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) through the hotline.
"India's concerns over the unprovoked firing were conveyed to his Pakistani counterpart," Defence Minister A K Antony said.
The Prime Minister voiced concern over the firing on the sidelines of the Defence Investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
"We have taken up the matter at the level of DGMO," Singh said making it clear that all issues having bearing on the Indo-Pak relations would be taken up during the forthcoming Foreign Minister level talks between the two countries.

Its not worrisome that pak is firing at our borders. Its worrisome that we are not giving them a befitting reply. We need to teach them that a single shell from their side will inflict more damage to them than to ours. We always behave as a soft nation and keep complaining. Complaining and pleading like this is not going to solve any problem. We need to take a tough stand.
Mr.P.M.how about bending over for a change?Obviously we do not have the courage needed to stop this violence from across the border and bangladesh.May be lending your derrier may appease them.We Indians are to be blamed for throwing out the BJP.We need Advanis and Modis or Thackerays, who i am sure will make the enemy bend over.
The British are noted for understating their reaction when faced with a national catastrophe. However it has to be said for them that beneath that facade of indifference they never lose sight of the gravity of the calamity gripping the nation while quietly resolving to tackle it with every resourse they could muster. On the other hand the authorities in India make equally innocuous statements time after time every time a crisis hit the nation but without the will to resolve it. How much more should the Govt expect the people to suffer in terms of lost lives and property in furtherance of of its policcy of unrequited appeasement? It is high time the Govt discarded its tolerance of violence engineered from across borders and framed a foreign policy that ensures the safety of its people.
If the Pakistani side is firing what or who is holding back the Indians from not firing. Fire back with a stunning reply and even more. For we all know what the Pakistanis are capable of, the moment they see or hear thunder they run for shelter.
Logival response would be to fire back, stop playing cricket, stop visiting etc. But Congresses response would be, please sir be kind and do not attack you are hurting us. India needs a strong leader like Narendra Modi!
Jaipur blast raises the Q of how much I
This was expected as Pak Army is trying to defy elected civilian Govt. With PPP and PML(N) falling apart,Army is resorting to undermine the authority of Govt.We should take adequate measures to prevent infiltration but donot escalate the skirmishes by using any fire power that is more than necessary to forestall any evil design.DMOs should keep in touch and CBMs should continue. All activities along the border are being carried out in conjunction with terroristsactivities. So Indian Army should heighten its vigil on the border,Police should go for terrorists and Govt should raise the issue of terrorism at all forums.Media should expose those selfcentered Politicians who are playing vote bank politics.
This is Pakistani tactics to divert the attention of their people from internal politics. India, they know, is government by a weak Govt. supported by their Chinese friends in India.
PM has pedegree like Mahatma...well educated, even tempered, non fundamentalist....So you think British left us because of Mahatma Gandhi...or those supoots of Bharatmata....Bhagatsingh, Dhingra, Chafekar Brothers, and unsung hero Barrister Sawarkar...and netaji?.....Do not get me started...use Gandhian principles to curb terrorism...and pimp thy motherland!!
SO WHAT ARE THE WIMPS WHO CURRENTLY RULE INDIA ARE GOING TO DO? WHAT A BLOODY WREATCHED PRIDELESS COUNTRY WITHOUT AN OUNCE OF SELF-RESPECT RULED BY A PRIME MINSTER WHO IS A WIMP, A HOME MINISTER WHO ISA USELESS WIMP AND A FOREIGN MINISTER WHO IS BOTH A WIMP AND AN SELFISH IMBECILE. AND YOU ALL TALK ABOUT INDIA AS THE NEXT SUPER POWER? YUCK IT SUCKS.
I really miss Indira Gandhi. I wish she was alive, because she was a very brave lady. If this kind of an incident had taken place under her rule, then she would have sent our forces all the way to Lahore or in the middle of Pakistan.Vajpaee was darpook chicken and Dr.Manmohan Singh is busy DDTing the BJP flies which keeps on taunting instead of standing firmly behind the Indian government. In the BJP run state Punjab people are selling the ISI terrorist Bhindrewale and the rest of the Pakistani force is firing unprovoked on our Nau Jawans.
Indira Gandhi was an Indian not Italian muck. Manmohan Singh is also a foreign born and others are just running dogs.
What's there to worry----- Put a million man Indian army in Kashmir, enact article 370 immediately. Sardars don't sit and worry, they get up from their seat and do the necessary actions.
It is illogical for pakistan (or even for India) to engage in escalation of tensions. Failing crops, dwindling food resources, and weakening dollar means pakistan needs a fresh juice of international and sympathetic middle eastern aid; or else it's military and jihadi hardware and software will start rotting in no time. Keeping tensions alive is one way of achieving this objective, and keep sympathetic supplies flow uninterrupted. This is great time and opportunity to flex muscles, or else it is destined to failure because peace is no good time for pakistani planners.
Escalation of tensions is illogical indeed. When the pakistani jihadi's and terrorists should be helping their own people and their chinese brothers who are devastated by earthquake; they are marching ahead with chinese made AK-47s and other sophisticated hardware. Poor planning in poor weather !
Well give the right short but stiff response where it hurt them the most. The the congress party is always worry aobut the Muslim votes and hence always mild in the response. It is high time that GOI take harsh actions against Bangladeshis too. Start sending Bangladeshis back to their native. Bangladeshis are the man power for the Huji.
I have never seen a Sardar talk like this. A Sardar is usually talks straight in a courageous manner that frightens the enemy. Unfortunately, our PM Sardar is not a real Sardar but an over-educated pseudo-sardar.
How Antony will protect 850 million Hindus, when he failed to protect lives of 8 Hindus is Marad massacre and then, under pressure of his ally and partner muslim league in his Kerala government, refused to recommend a CBI probe? Now Antony is the defense minister and his collegeue E. Ahmed of Muslim league, known for his notorious role in the whole Marad massacre incident, is now External Affairs minister of state (http://www.indianexpress.com/printerFriendly/3229.html ). Is India safe in the hands of a central goverment headed by goons and thugs of congress and its notorious allies?
This is what M.S. Golwalkar, who succeeded Dr. Hedgewar as head of the RSS in 1940 said: Ever since that evil day, when Moslems first landed in Hindustan, right up to the present moment, the Hindu Nation has been gallantly fighting on to take on these despoilers. Manmohan is appeasing muslim fanatics. Does he not remember beheading of Guru Teg Bahadur, Father of the founder of his religion Guru govind Singh, by Aurangjeb for defending Hindus from surrendering to islam? Does he not remember killing of Guru Govind Singh's wife and all of his four sons? Congress goons and thugs were directly responsible for the Sikh massacre and now for Hindus massacre.
Where are those "Sikhs" that were created by Great Guru Govind? We only see sheep in that guise who are fit only to weep and worry! Alas, we have a pseudo-Sardar at the top!!
Sikhs like Swarn Singh, Butta Singh, Manmohan Singh....etc. Now we have Sikh who can tolerate their massacre and wait for compensation....Sardars now become Baniyas!
Pls stop comparing this person with Baniyas,,, Baniyas are more loyal to their Country, relegion and business and have provided more jobs compared to Govt Sector..Last thing,,,baniyas will die but will never compromise on one thing..Loyalty to country and ethics. Histor y suggests that all the traitots like Jaichands and all were not baniyas but....
MMS needs to wear Glass Bangles - "Made in China". Shame of you being a Sardaar!
mmsingh=indias pm worried about unprovoked pak firing on indian troops !! sure- pak firing sounds must disturb already disturbed sleep of mmsingh..
Current infiltration can be explained by either of two means: First, that the pakistani establishment has gone totally defunct, and the jihadi machinery has taken over. Then this would need to be dealt without any diplomacy, and sheer military power. Second, the ISI is back to it's basic tactics, and using controlled terrorism as a fodder for it's future military victory. Again, this does not need any diplomacy. But, as usual, we will see the military rulers and supporting politicians as shedding crocodile tears for loss of control or supporting their nefarious designs in name of liberating kashmiris, as if they are living in hell and need liberation. Infact, they are much better and getting bread two times a day, rather than the opposite in POK, still ravaged by effects of earthquake, and all it's aid squandered away buying weapons or supporting terrorism.
Given the unpredictability of ISI and military establishment, India must be prepared for anything. We must remember that pakistan is still headed by Mr. MUsharraf, the architect of Kargil and claimant of loss as victory. He and his clique will do everything in their power to keep their agendas alive in the face of newly elected democratic government who are unfamiliar with their tactical style. Will it mean the end of democracy again, and Nawaz Ji will have to return to saudi again along with the brand new crew on board ! Wish that the poor pakistani have some say in keeping their country and economy alive.
