Chandigarh, March 7 A Team of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau today conducted searches at the office of Punjab Financial Commissioner (Appeals) R.N. Gupta in the Punjab Civil Secretariat. Gupta was reportedly not present in his office when the search took place.

The team, comprising SP P.S. Khaira and DSPs Anil Joshi and Harpreet Singh, also conducted searches at the branch where the record pertaining to various files dealt by Gupta are kept.

However, it is learnt that the team could not lay its hands on any incriminating documents or files.

It asked the staff to keep ready for inspection some files pertaining to cases dealt by Gupta that find mention in the slips of paper recovered from his personal assistant (PA) who was arrested a few days ago while accepting a bribe.

The slips carry details of payments allegedly made to Gupta by the arrested PA from time and time as well as the cases for which money changed hands.
