New Delhi, April 3: The BJP and its senior leader L K Advani may have closed the chapter on the Jinnah controversy but for the VHP, a key member of the Sangh Parivar, the issue is not yet 'clear'.

"Things have to be made clearer by him (Advani)," senior VHP leader Ashok Singhal said here on Thursday.

Singhal was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a new year (Vikram Samvat) eve get-together organised by the Delhi unit of the VHP.

Another senior leader of VHP, Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, on the spot, contradicted his comments.

"What Advaniji had said in Pakistan was a qoute from Jinnah's speech. And I don’t think there should be any controversy on the issue," he said sitting beside Singhal.

On a query over Advani's autobiography ‘My Country, My India’ being ‘unapologetic’ about his statement in Pakistan on hailing Jinnah to be secular, Singhal said that confusion still prevails of his stand.

"There is some confusion on the issue. Even Advaniji seemed confused in writing the book. He said in his address on the book-launch ceremony that he was in double thought about writing the book," he said.

Advani had to leave the BJP president's post in the wake of the controversy.
