Vadodara, January 25 The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has decided to modernise its birth and death registration process by computerising the entire system from January 26. The process will begin from its Badamdi Baug centre.

Mayor Sunil Solanki will inaugurate the new system, which is being seen as the first step towards modernising the civic facilities. Following the computerisation, the citizens need not come to the main office of the corporation located at Khanderao market, as they would be able to register birth and death cases at Badamdi Baug office, said a top VMC official.

He added that under the new system, it is also likely to put all available records and birth and death data online, which are registered since 1965.

The Badamdi Baug office may also handle the change related work in the records and it can be availed at a very minimum cost.

The citizens will also be able to avail services like obtaining computerised certificates pertaining to birth, death, adoption and other civic verification records at one window.

Meanwhile, the members of the VMC standing committee have emphasised the need for making available computerised copies of information sought by the citizens at administrative wards located across the city.
