Valmiki and Mazhabi Sikh Welfare Council formed

Ludhiana, February 17 At a meeting held by various organisations of the Valmikis and Mazhabi Sikhs here today, a joint organisation — Valmiki and Mazhabi Sikh Welfare Council of Punjab — was formed. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Laxman Dravid of the Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj (BHAVADHS) was attended by the representatives of All India Rangreta Dal, Valmiki/Mazhabi Sikh Sangharsh Morcha, Municipal Karamchari Dal, Safai Mazdoor Union, Barnala, Punjab State Karamchari Dal and many other organisations. The newly formed council, comprising 31 members, has been formed to take up the issues and demands concerning the Valmiki and Mazhabi Sikh communities. The members of the newly formed council announced that a big rally would be organised in Chandigarh in March to press their pending demands.
