Lucknow Uttar Pradesh government gave the green signal for filing of chargesheet in a court against BJP MP Varun Gandhi for making allegedly inflammatory speeches in Pilibhit, moving a step closer to his trial in the case.

"The government has given a go-ahead to the District Magistrate of Pilibhit to file chargesheet against Gandhi accused of delivering inflammatory speeches during Lok Sabha polls", said UP Secretary (Home) Mahesh Gupta.

The Pilibhit administration, after receiving the report from Forensic Science Laboratory in Chandigarh on the CDs of Varun's alleged inflammatory speeches that his voice was not tampered with, had sought permission from the government to file the chargesheet against the BJP MP, sources said.

The state Home department had earlier sought an advice from the legal department which favoured prosecution of Gandhi in the case, they said.

Cases were registered against Varun on March 17 at Barkheda police station in Pilibhit on the direction of the Election Commission for allegedly delivering inflammatory speeches there on March 8.

Another FIR was registered against Varun on March 19 for allegedly delivering another hate speech at Desh Nagar locality of Pilibhit town on March 7.

The cases were lodged under the provisions of IPC including section 153 (inciting communal feelings), Representation of People's Act and violation of the model code of conduct.

The 29-year-old BJP leader is out now on bail in cases relating to making provocative speeches during campaigning for recent Lok Sabha elections.

Pilibhit police had late last month sought permission from Uttar Pradesh government to file a chargesheet against Varun. "The chargesheet was ready to be produced before the court. A letter has now been sent to the state government seeking permission to file the chargesheet," district Superintendent of Police Prakash D had said.

Varun was arrested on March 29 by Uttar Pradesh Police and though he was granted bail in two cases relating to alleged hate speeches, he was charged under the National Security Act (NSA) and spent three weeks in detention till he was granted conditional bail on April 16 by the Supreme Court.

On May 8, an advisory Board in Uttar Pradesh held as invalid Varun's detention under NSA. On May 14, the Supreme Court had directed the Mayawati government to immediately drop charges under NSA against Varun.

Best way to get out from this unnecessary mess Varun gandhi should give written apology to court for his provocative speech and spend more time to constructive work.

UP Govt all set to file chargesheet by Jairaj Yadav on 04 Jul 2009

The case had been with High Court and Suprem court and was dismissed. I had heard what little came on channels and there was nothing of hate speech. It was pro-Hindus and nothing wrong in that.Maya had wasted 2000 Crores tax payers money on installing her and Kansiram's statues as well as that of Elephants that are her party symbol. She must not waste any further tax payers' money.

It is shame on BJP/RSS/VHP and RajNath Singh in particular. These communal litter bugs are supporting Varun. As Such Varun has a coktail of Sikh,Muslim,Parsi,Brahmin blood. He should get stringent punishment. He should not be let loose.Hope Mayawathi will prove her might and give this communal litterbug a cerebral treatment.BJP has divisive agenda and they cheat the Hindus stating that "Hindu Hindu Bhai Bhai".In fact RSS is promoting Aryan invaders supremacy over native Indians, Dravidians and Dalits. As usual RSS believes in Fascism abd takes lessons from Hitler. EVery statement of RSS/BJP is a blunt lie.Why not RSS make a Bhangi its Chief? Why not BJP initiate a moment to make Dalits as Preists? Why not RSS/BJP/VHP marry their women to Adivasis/Dalits?In fact RSS is traitors bunch, who by cheating and promoting lies want to grab power and crush the Backwards. As such RSS/BJP/VHP themselves have no defination of Hinudtva. These organisations are supporting Gay relations.

Cheapest political consipracies in recent time by Chandra SG on 04 Jul 2009

I think this is being flogged by the desperate media.. to catch eyeballs of viewers and thereby sell their channels/ newspapers.Varun has not done any crime. He made pro-Hindu statements.. His speech has not caused any hatred between communities nor any riots... His speech was used effectively by his political opponents to polarise votes in their favour and also defame him to end his political career.... Some media dogs have started to act like... cunning foxes... and not as watchdogs..!!I think Varun is completely innocent and do not deserve all this... By making this issue.. an unneccessary non-issue is being raked up ... which will have ve effect on Varun on long run.... as it did to Modi... Where excessive and unjustified media bashing earned him... unparallel sympathy from voters. Please stop this bull shit... Instead expose those.. who stood and gained out of this whole controversy... Varun is anyway denying contents of the alleged speech...

How can he deny by shiv on 04 Jul 2009

Was Varun's speech caught by just one camera and covered by just one media person? If it was so, he can deny all that he said and get away with it. If there were several media persons covering his speech and there were many cameras and mikes to record his speech, then he had it. It will be just too difficult to muzzle all if he had made that speech telecast by so many TV channels. Just applying to this simple logic any judge can hold him guilty or not guilty as the case may be. No need to go about a long and drawn debate in courtrooms. If he is guilty, then punish him lightly as his first offence with a warning that severe punishment will be waiting for him if he repeats such hate speech.

Varun Gandhi by Venkata Mangala on 04 Jul 2009

The UP govt like Kerala government caters to Moslem terrorists. There is Madani, a convicted Moslem terrorist in Kerala who ran for Parliament after being released by secular parties. There are any number of such Moalsms both legislature of UP. Of course no body takes any action, no body proseutes them because India's peculiar seularism places them above law. But if a young Hindu rightly calls for tit to tat, he is arrested under national security law. What happened to national security when convicted terrorists are not only released but are courted by same secular political parties who are now taking cudgels against Varun Ganhi and Maneka Gandhi. Let BJP rehabilitate itself through storngly supporting its Member of parliament, Varun Gandhi. It is about time that party finds its moorings again and let secular appeasers and abetters of islamic terrorism answer to the nation.

Chor ko aur chor ki maan donon ko saza do by surendra on 03 Jul 2009

The whole blame goes to Maneka Gandhi who instilled so much hate into her son. Also blame goes to the RSS shakha who work ovetrtime to instigate hates against minorities. Despite of the rokle of his mother and Shakha, Varun MUST be held responsible for spraeding hate in secular democratic India. If he let go, then he will never learn. Keep him tied to the charges, convict him, bail him out, put him back in, release him, send hiom back to jail, bail him out, convict him, let him appeal, release him, appeal it, try him, convict him, bail him out. Let him old fighting the charges like Sanjay Dutt. Once he is 60 years old send him to jail for 3 nmonths under 5 years probation. He will learn and the mother will die regretting her mistakes. RSS will laugh and continue fighting for him with no success. Long live India. Vande Mataram !
