Mumbai, January 27 Vikas Mohite of Road Runners (Bandra) and Poinsur Gymkhana’s Nilam Kadam emerged best in the men and women’s sections of the All-Mumbai Fourth Poinsur Gymkhana Minithon Races, held around Poinsur Gymkhana in Kandivli-Borivli suburbs on Sunday.

The Minithon attracted over 1500 runners in various age groups. As the huge contingent in the men’s section took off, Vikas maintained study pace and after halfway stage was very well placed to bag the 10-km event in 31.01 seconds.

Fifteen seconds behind him was Prakash Dhasade of Uran Gymkhana while Chandrakant Patil, also of Road Runners, finished third.

In the women’s 5-km run, Nilam Kadam ran the distance in style to win the event in 18.02 seconds. She was followed by Anupama Patil, of Dr. Naravane Sports and Namsidha Shinde of Road Runners.

Last year’s champions Uran Gymkhana this time put up disappointing show as they finished third behind winners Road Runners (Bandra) and Dr. Naravane Sports Academy. Uran Gymkhana aggregated only 73 points.
