Wellington, October 3: Batsman Lou Vincent will replace the injured Peter Fulton in the New Zealand squad for the two-Test series against South Africa next month.

Fulton has injured his right knee and will need surgery, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) said on Wednesday.

The hard-hitting Vincent has been in and out of the Test side since his debut in the 2001/2 season and has an average of 35 from 22 matches.

Fulton may recover in time for the Chappell-Hadlee one-day international series in Australia in December, NZC said.

The first of the two Tests in South Africa starts on November 8.
